Death of Henri Audet, founder of COGECO inc.
Montreal, November 5, 2012 – Louis Audet, President and Chief Executive Officer of
COGECO Inc. and Cogeco Cable Inc., announces with sadness that the Founder and
President Emeritus of the company passed away on November 3, 2012 at the age of 94.
Founded in 1957 with a view to operating a commercial television station in Trois-Rivières,
COGECO Inc. has become, through its direct and indirect subsidiaries including Cogeco Cable
Inc., Cogeco Data Services Inc. and Cogeco Diffusion Inc., a major Canadian communications
company with consolidated revenue of $1.4 billion for fiscal year ended on August 31, 2012 and
approximately 3,500 employees in Ontario and Québec.
The control of COGECO Inc., and therefore of its direct and indirect subsidiaries, is held by
Gestion Audem Inc., a holding company whose shares are held entirely by the members of the
family of Henri Audet. The control of Gestion Audem Inc. remains entirely with the family of Henri
Audet following his death.
