MORE HIGH DEFINITION CHANNELS ADDED TO COGECO CABLE’S DIGITAL TELEVISION SERVICE

More High Definition channels added to Cogeco Cable’s Digital Television service
Montréal, December 15, 2006 — Cogeco Cable (TSX: CCA) announced the launch of two new
High Definition (HD) channels. A&E HD and HDNet are now offered to the majority of Cogeco Cable
Digital Cable customers in the areas served in Ontario.
“Cogeco Cable is committed to providing their customers with the best possible HD offering. By
adding two new HD channels to our Digital Television line-up, we allow our customers to discover
the outstanding quality this technology offers. As we continue to invest in our state-of-the-art cable
network, we will continue to launch new HD channels as they become available,” declared Mr. Ron
Perrotta, Vice President, Marketing of Cogeco Cable.
A&E HD (channel 273) will be available for free to the majority of Cogeco Digital Cable subscribers
who are paying the HD Access Fee of $5.99 per month. A&E HD’s high definition programming
includes new original shows like “King of Cars”, as well as fresh episodes of returning series “Cold
Case Files”, “The First 48”, “Driving Force”, “Inked”, “Dallas SWAT” and in 2007, “The Sopranos”.
HDNet (channel 274) is available to the majority of Cogeco HD Television subscribers through the
new HD Premium Pack that also includes Discovery HD. Offered for free for the first two months,
the HD Premium Pack is available at $6.00 per month, in addition to the HD Access Fee. HDNet is a
premium channel offering 100% HD content including more original music, sports, news and
entertainment programming than any other HD network. Enjoy original news programming like “Dan
Rather Reports”, “HDNet World Report” and the “HDNet Concert Series” featuring performances
from artists like Sheryl Crow and Jessica Simpson.
“Our Digital Cable service has been gaining popularity with more than 80,000 new subscribers in
fiscal 2006, which confirms that customers appreciate the variety, quality and control that Cogeco
Cable’s Digital Television service provides them,” Mr. Perrotta concluded.
