Total Uptime Technologies Expands Globally with Peer 1 Hosting
Peer 1 Bolsters Reliability & Availability for Total Uptime’s Growing Customer Base
Vancouver, British Columbia – August 5, 2014 – Peer 1 Hosting, the global Web infrastructure and cloud
hosting provider, announced today that Total Uptime Technologies has expanded its datacenter
footprint into Peer 1’s facilities in San Jose, Calif., and Portsmouth, UK, to better serve global customers.
For three years, Total Uptime has relied upon Peer 1 and its wholly-owned FastFiber Network to
guarantee 100 percent uptime and unbeatable IT performance for its customers. Additionally, as a result
of this successful cooperation, Peer 1 has welcomed Total Uptime into its Smart Partner Program.
Total Uptime helps online businesses and other Internet-centric organizations improve their customer
experience and maximize revenue opportunities by ensuring their Web presence never falters. By
creating virtual duplicates of customers’ hosting environments, Total Uptime can facilitate failovers to
secondary facilities such as Peer 1’s in the case of a datacenter outage. In this role, Total Uptime has
come to rely upon Peer 1 as a dependable hosting provider partner to support failovers for customers in
North America and Europe.
Since 2011, not a single Peer 1 datacenter where Total Uptime colocates infrastructure has experienced
an outage, ensuring an unwavering environment for Total Uptime’s customers when their primary
hosting provider experiences performance issues. Because of this level of reliability, Total Uptime has
now joined the Smart Partner Program, which creates mutually beneficial revenue streams for Peer 1
and its partners.
“The performance and availability that Peer 1 ensures for our customers is unmatched, and after
recommending them to our customers for the last three years, we’re thrilled to enter into a formal
partnership,” said Jonathan Hoppe, co-founder of Total Uptime. “The Peer 1 team has demonstrated
their commitment to our goals and growth, and has the technical knowledge and capability to get us
there. That’s really the winning combination for a hosting provider, and has enabled Total Uptime to
deliver the best possible service to our customers.”
A key ingredient in Total Uptime’s services is Peer 1’s anycast failover capabilities, which route failovers
to the topologically nearest node in a group of potential receivers, rather than to a unique endpoint.
Anycast failovers ensure minimal latency and a seamless transition between sites, and is in high demand
by many of today’s most performance-sensitive enterprises and online businesses. However, due to its
highly technical nature and reliance on unwavering network connectivity, very few hosting providers can
offer anycast failover. Peer 1’s anycast services ensure that its customers, and its partners’ customers,
can maintain optimal performance in any of its facilities.
“Our partners are a huge part of our success, and we value the relationship we have developed with
Total Uptime in the last three years,” said Kevin Paolino, senior vice president, revenue, Peer 1. “Most
businesses today rely on impeccable Web performance, and any degradation or drops in service would
likely result in a damaged reputation or even lost revenue. Failover capabilities, especially anycast, are
therefore integral in any hosting environment. We look forward to continuing to expand this partnership
with Total Uptime and ensure the best possible performance for its customers.”
About Total Uptime
Total Uptime Technologies, LLC is a privately held provider of cloud solutions designed to help
organizations achieve high availability in a demanding online world. Our multi-datacenter, multi-country
cloud platform easily delivers on our uptime promise because it has been engineered from the ground
up to be fast, flexible and resilient.
While other organizations were busy renaming their legacy solutions as “cloud” and dressing them up to
take advantage of the latest hype, Total Uptime Technologies was engineering a true cloud platform
that was multi-datacenter at its core. In our mind, cloud meant resilient, and resilient meant that we
had to design an application that could span infrastructure at different datacenters in different
geographies – continents apart. Only then would we be content with calling it “cloud”.
